CLASC Seeks a Faculty Advisor

Hello Liberal Arts,

As you may be aware, the College of Liberal Arts Student Council (CLASC) is currently seeking an enthusiastic and student oriented CLA faculty member to serve as a Faculty Advisor for the college council. The position is for the remainder of the semester and continuing on for the upcoming year. You will find a description of the position at our website.

GreenLB Earth Day Art Show: April 9th

GreenLB is having their 1st Annual Green Long Beach! Earth Day Art Show coming up two Saturdays from now. It would be great to have CSULB students come down and support the cause as well as help spread the word!  Attached to the right is a flier for the 1st Annual GreenLB Earth Day Art Show designed by their own lovely greenLB designer & Festival Marketing Director, Amy Tanaka (who's reuse eco-artwork will be featured at the show!).

Green Long Beach! is hosting our 1st Annual Earth Day Art Show on April 9th, 6-9pm at Catalyst Space (430 E 1st St) set to coincide with the 2nd Saturday art walk in East Village. Showcasing local eco-artwork focused on conservation, sustainability & the environment from Some Things Creative by Timothy Dunham, Carolyn Duncan, and Amy Tanaka focused on sustainability & the environment.

Come join us for a reception and some FREE refreshments/drinks, music, and a chance meet the artists to talk about what sustainability means to them & their inspiration for their artwork. Support a greener long beach and WIN GreenLB raffle prizes from the featured artists & Clay on First!

*Artwork will be featured at Catalyst space for the entire month of April!

Remember that our grant hearing is April 5th (LA1-310, 5:00-6:30 pm), and you must have at least one representative to present your grant(s).  Please, if you have not sent me your grant application, I do need some information from each grant.

GSA & Department of Geography: 8th Annual Geography Photo Contest

The Department of Geography at California State University, Long Beach, in collaboration with Geography Student Association, will conduct its 8th annual Photo Contest between April 18th and 21st (the week of Earth Day).

SUBMISSIONS

Step 1: Using your surname as subject, email the following information to beachgeography@gmail.com:
(a) a category from the list below,
(b) the photograph’s title, location, and year,
(c) one or two sentences explaining the significance of your photograph, and
(d) your name.

Come join The US Green Building Council!  We are pleased to team up with Environmental Science and Policy, the Green Campus Program, the Sustainability Task Force, faculty and staff to give a talk on what we do.  We all have a common goal of making a more sustainable campus.  Learn about USGBC, the LEED Rating System, and how it can and is positively affecting our campus.
