CLASC Endorses Michael Quibuyen for ASI Treasurer

The College of Liberal Arts Student Council voted unanimously to endorse Michael Quibuyen for ASI Treasurer. After speaking to the Executive Board of the College Council and discussing future inititaives and his platform, CLASC felt that Michael is the best choice of the two candidates currently running for ASI Treasurer.

Michael Quibuyen is a current 5th year Senior Environmental Science and Policy major with a minor in Political Science. Michael has experience in ASI for over 2 years and looks forward to advocating for students against the proposed budget cuts to higher education if elected.

Michael's platform includes:

1. REVISING AND UTILIZING A NEW FUNDING SYSTEM THROUGHOUT MY TERM. This would help in the decision making process in the Board of Control in ASI to fund events based upon merit and your contribution to the university or personal development. I am a firm believer of consistency and setting precedent for the future of how events and projects should be handled fiscally.

2. IMPROVE STUDENT AWARENESS OF THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS. Student organizations are the heart and soul of our campus, without your contributions to enhancing student life our campus we would not be as unique or creative. I will make sure that student organizations are funded fairly to ensure success of every event or project.

3. CREATION OF NEW SCHOLARSHIPS AND SOURCES OF FUNDING. Along with the success of student organizations, individuals should be rewarded as well throughout campus. I will be sure to advocate for the creation of more scholarships and will be supportive of creative solutions in attaining sources of funds to provide for student services or organizations.
